Bringing the hit film franchise to the stage is no small task, but Now You See Me Live pulls it off with real style, delivering a fast-paced, slick show that keeps you guessing from start to finish. Built around the same blend of magic, heist and showmanship that made the films so popular, this is a production designed to dazzle, and for the most part, it does exactly that.
The staging is a big part of what makes it work. The set, lighting and projection work together beautifully, creating a world that feels cinematic even before a single trick begins. It all adds up to a show that looks as good as it performs, with each set-up feeling like an event in itself.
The cast is where the show really shines, and each performer brings something different to the table. Enzo Weyne, Gabriella Lester, Andrew Basso and Matthew Pomeroi add their own distinct touches and personality, each act feeling like a fresh surprise rather than more of the same.
Eden Choi is a clear standout too, bringing real skill and precision to her moments on stage. It's also great to see Fraser Penman and Rafferty Coope, both known to audiences from this year's Britain's Got Talent, get the chance to shine in a bigger setting, and they don't disappoint.
There are plenty of proper wow moments throughout, the kind that get gasps and applause in equal measure, and it's clear the show isn't just aimed at adults. The children in the audience seemed to be having the time of their lives, wide-eyed at every reveal, which says a lot about how well the show is pitched.
Produced by Lionsgate, Now You See Me Live clearly has money and ambition behind it, and it shows in every part of the production.
