or almost ten years, The Choir of Man has brought people together through music, storytelling, laughter and the simple, powerful idea of a group of mates looking out for one another. Set in a traditional pub, the show celebrates friendship, community, and the importance of having people around you to talk to. Across its years of performances around the world, it has created a unique community of performers and audiences, and that spirit of connection is at the heart of this event.
On 11 October, the current UK touring cast will take on a team of Choir of Man legends from across the show's history in a very special charity football match in London. Former cast members will reunite with current performers for an afternoon of football, music, entertainment and plenty of friendly competition, all in support of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
CALM works to prevent suicide and provides life-saving support to anyone struggling, while campaigning to break the stigma around talking about mental health and suicide. Although CALM supports everyone, its work has a particular history of reaching men and challenging the pressures that can make it difficult for men to talk about how they're feeling.
The message behind The Choir of Man, that friendship matters, that we should look out for one another, and that nobody should have to face difficult times alone- makes CALM a natural charity for us to support.
