Ben Platt will make his London stage debut this summer in the U.K. premiere of Midnight at the Never Get, the Mark Sonnenblick musical heading to the Menier Chocolate Factory.

The production, directed by Tony and Drama Desk winner David Cromer (The Band’s Visit), begins previews on July 11, opens July 20 and is scheduled to run until September 12.

Sonnenblick — who recently won a Grammy for Golden and co-wrote songs for Netflix’s hit KPop Demon Hunters — provides the book, music and lyrics. Set in 1960s New York, the show follows the forbidden romance between singer Trevor Copeland and songwriter Arthur Brightman at a time when their relationship is illegal.

Originally conceived by Sonnenblick, Sam Bolen and Max Friedman, Midnight at the Never Get premiered off‑Broadway in 2018 and has been reworked for its London bow. Full casting beyond Platt will be announced soon.
