Yesterday, Cameron Mackintosh wrote on The Evening Standard that The Phantom of the Opera was "permanently" shutting down.
Today, we posted our skepticism about that, saying we are sure that the show will come back soon, even if probably in a different version.
"As far as I'm concerned, Phantom will re-open as soon as is possible." tweeted Andrew Lloyd Webber today.
Last month the production announced that Phantom's West End home at Her Majesty's Theatre was to be renovated and updated, and that a "period of extended closure is urgently needed.
