Producers of the UK premiere of new musical Ride the Cyclone have announced casting for the show’s run at Southwark Playhouse Elephant.
Ride the Cyclone is playing at Southwark Playhouse Elephant from 14 November 2025 to 10 January 2026.
The show boasts music, lyrics and book by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, and is the second instalment of Richmond’s “Uranium Teen Scream Trilogy”.
Ride the Cyclone will star Edward Wu (Kim’s Convenience) as The Amazing Karnak, Baylie Carson (Mean Girls) as Ocean, Grace Galloway (Priscilla The Party!) as Jane Doe, Robyn Gilbertson as Constance, Damon Gould (Cabaret) as Noel, Bartek Kraszewski as Mischa and Jack Maverick as Ricky.
The cast also features Nathaniel Purnell (Shucked) and Rebecca D’Lacey (The Rocky Horror Show).
Promising to be a darkly funny, wildly imaginative and surprisingly heartfelt new musical, Ride the Cyclone will be directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee (A Christmas Carol, Groundhog Day The Musical).
In the story, when a freak roller coaster accident claims the lives of six teens, they find themselves trapped in limbo and offered one last shot at life. One by one, they step into the spotlight to prove why they deserve a second chance at life.
The wider creative team includes musical director Ben McQuigg, set and costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting designer Tim Deiling, video designer Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound designer Tom Marshall, and casting director Harry Blumenau.
The musical is produced by Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard and Jack Maple.
