Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec must be very popular. Unfortunately I never saw Strictly (so my review is just based just on this show), but hearing the audience at the Palladium screaming like teenagers at a Justin Bieber’s concert, I could understand they are famous.

And how they could not? They are handsome, they dance beautifully, they have great personalities and…they are married to each other.

The show is a tribute to Fred Astaire and they both pay it very well- they are a pleasure to watch. Their movements are fluid, precise and elegant.

But the show does not work well as it should. When they are not on stage, the supporting dancers and singers do their best, but it does not seem enough, for a show of this level.

Between the numbers, the big LED screen tell us the story of Fred, his work, his legacy and of course what Janette and Aljaz think about him, and I was wondering if it was necessary and what this added to the show, that – maybe also because of this – seems a bit too long and muddled.

Of course it is an entertaining show, but I could not find that charm, magnetism and excitement that I expected. But - probably – the screaming audience might think differently.
