The Bollywood Queen is a new immersive cabaret show that captures the essence of the romance, comedy, and extravagant life of Bollywood.
As you know, Bollywood is a film industry based in Mumbai, India. It was created in 1932 by Dadasaheb Phalke and is the largest film industry in the world in terms of the number of films - with 1,500 to 2,000 movies released a year across twenty languages.
The show travels through the decades, taking the audience on a journey through the history of Bollywood, from the golden age of the 1950s and 1960s to the modern era of the 21st century.
The atmosphere within the cosy basement by Fenchurch Street station is of excitement and release, the soundtrack and visual efforts are enough to get you dancing before the colourful entertainment truly sets the ball rolling.
Choreographed by Naz Choudhury, the singer and the incredibly talented, diverse and energetic cast celebrate not just the cinema, but also the culture of Bollywood with new and old music (not performed by a live orchestra as advertised).
The 3-course menu is a beautiful accumulation of tastes from different regions of India, and it not only looks and tastes great, but it even accommodates special dietary requirements.
