Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has announced that outdoor performances will be able to begin from 11 July.
Many venues have called for more guidance on staging shows outdoors.
The new announcement is part of Dowden's "stage three" of his five-part process for reopening venues. All productions will have to feature casts adhering to social distancing rules. as Dowden has said: "Our theatres, operas can put on shows for socially distanced audiences".
