The Lyceum Theatre, home to The Lion King, has been flooded, leaving its orchestra pit under 12ft of water.

Fire services were called to the theatre, in Covent Garden, on the evening of May 11 at around 9pm to reports of a flooding in the basement.

 

According to the London Fire Brigade, the orchestra pit in the basement of the theatre was flooded to a depth of around 12 feet, with firefighters spending the night trying to pump the water away.
