Carrie Hope Fletcher (Cinderella, Les Misérables) is set to star in a new UK & Ireland tour of Calamity Jane, ahead of a West End run for the show.
Tour dates then include the Theatre Royal Brighton, King’s Theatre Glasgow, Liverpool Empire, Manchester Opera House, Milton Keynes Theatre, Regent Theatre Stoke-On-Trent, the Sunderland Empire, the New Wimbledon Theatre, New Victoria Woking and the Grand Opera House York.
Carrie Hope Fletcher will take the lead role of Calamity Jane. Carrie is one of the West End’s leading stars and is an accomplished actress, singer-songwriter, author and YouTube and social media star.
Based on the much-loved movie starring Doris Day, the show is adapted for the stage by Charles K. Freeman from James O’Hanlon’s screenplay, with music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Paul Francis Webster.
A score of glorious songs includes The Black Hills of Dakota, The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), Just Blew in from the Windy City, and Secret Love.
The new tour may be based on the Watermill Theatre’s successful production, directed by Nikolai Foster, co-directed and choreographed by Nick Winston and with musical supervision by Olivier, Grammy and Tony Award winner Catherine Jayes.
