Casting is announced for the Table Read of CHASE, a new and original Musical, being showcased at The Other Palace.
Workshop rehearsals for a table read of the new dance musical, CHASE, take place from 7th August, with open and intimate performances being held to showcase the new material on Tuesday 29th, Thursday 31st August, and Friday 1st September at The Other Palace, in Victoria. Tickets: here.
Written by Base Studios co-owner Dax O'Callaghan (Oliver, JLS Tour, Universal Music), the table read is directed by Blair Anderson (The Spongebob Musical, Footloose), Musical Direction by Mark Crossland (9 to 5, Bring it on), casting by Harry Blumenau and Music Production by Arj,C.
CHASE is a new genre of Musical Theatre, with the structure of a dance show, aided by original music, songs and dialogue to push the narrative along. A Dance fusion, with Musical Theatre, Pop and R'n'B style original music.
Leading CHASE are Principals; Tanesha Moses (2023 Graduate), Miranda Wilford (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Tommy, Thriller Live), Lloyd Notice (The Lion King, Othello) Dax O'Callaghan, Shak Mancel James (WWRY, The Lion King, Motown), Rachel White (CBBC Saturday Mash Up) and Curtis Patrick (Pretty Woman).
They are joined by an Ensemble of; Glenn Adamson, Sasha Latoya, Miaya Weymouth, Yasmin Sharp, Harvey Willcock, Emily Kenwright, Sophie Ferrero, Luke Randall, Robyn Casey and Jack Goldsmith.
Set in the not too distant future, in a time when humans have caused so much irreparable damage to earth, it is now at risk of extinction, we meet Chase, the first mechanical created with a soul, who can think and feel just as a human can. But, after his creator's death, he is left alone, unfinished and abandoned in the laboratory, until a group of young friends seeking an adventure discover Chase and begin to teach him about the human world... or is it Chase that's teaching them the most important lessons? We follow him as he sets out to find his purpose, discovering the realities of the world, and the people in it, but can he save it all from vanishing forever?...
