Aladdin, the musical based on the 1992 Disney animated film of the same name with a book by Chad Beguelin, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Beguelin will embark on its first UK and Ireland tour.

 

Aladdin will open in Edinburgh on 24 October - 18 November 2023. After that it will be at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff from 7 December to 14 January 2024, then at Theatre Royal Plymouth (17 January to 11 February 2024),  at Sunderland Empire (15 February to 10 March 2024), and Milton Keynes Theatre (24 April to 19 May 2024). Further locations and casting are to be revealed in due course.

A West End production officially opened on June 15, 2016 at the Prince Edward Theatre, with previews from May 27, 2016 and starring Dean John-Wilson as Aladdin, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Genie, Jade Ewen as Jasmine, Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babkak, Rachid Sabitri as Omar, and Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim. The show closed on 24 August 2019, after being seen by over 2 million people, and 1,361 performances.
