Avenue Q is heading back to the West End for its 20th anniversary, promising the same cheeky humour, sharp wit and unexpected warmth that made it a cult favourite. The irreverent, puppet‑powered musical returns to the Shaftesbury Theatre for a limited season from 20 March to 29 August 2026, with evening performances Monday to Saturday and matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays. Tickets: here.

This revival reunites much of the original Broadway creative team. Jason Moore once again takes the director's chair, Anna Louizos returns to design the set, and the production will feature the original Broadway puppets. Rick Lyon provides puppet design, with orchestrations and arrangements by Stephen Oremus.

The creative team for this new staging also includes choreography by Ebony Molina, costumes by Jean Chan, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Paul Groothuis, and video design by Nina Dunn for Pixellux. Puppetry coaching comes from Iestyn Evans and Andy Heath of Talk to the Hand Puppets, with casting by Pearson Casting. Julie Atherton, a member of the original West End company, joins the team as associate director, and Benjamin Holder serves as musical director.

Written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, with a book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q follows Princeton, a recent graduate navigating adulthood in a dilapidated New York apartment block, guided — and often misled — by his eccentric human and puppet neighbours.
