The cast for Elf the Musical has been announced. 

 

Joel Montague, Carrie Hope Fletcher, and Aled Jones are set to star as Buddy, Jovie, and Walter Hobbs, respectively.

The musical is based on the 2003 film featuring Will Ferrell and tells the story of Buddy, a human who was raised as an elf at the North Pole and travels to New York City to find his biological father. The production will feature a new set designed specifically for the Aldwych Theatre. Tickets are available here.

The creative team for the show includes director Philip Wm McKinley, choreographer Liam Steel, and a team handling set, costume, lighting, and sound design.

Additional cast members have also been announced, including Rosanna Hyland as Emily Hobbs, Martyn Ellis as Santa/Mr. Greenway, Lucinda Lawrence as Deb, and Dermot Canavan as the Store Manager. The role of Michael Hobbs will be shared by Ayrton English, Max Garlick, Harry Georgiou, and Samuel Sturge.

Carrie Hope Fletcher and Joel Montague were married in February 2023 at Gretna Green, Scotland. They have since had a daughter, Mabel, born in March 2024.

It will open at the Aldwych Theatre, running from 28 October 2025 to 3 January 2026.

 

The show previously had successful runs at the Dominion Theatre in 2022 and 2023, where it broke box office records.
