Lucid by New Public at the Rada Festival provides an entertaining but sometimes confusing insight into dreams.

New Public’s five very talented actors use all of their creativity to form several different dreaming experiences. Clearly well educated, the five utilize space, movement and sound to bring the audience into each dream.

Although it does get confusing in the middle for a while, a very strong ending leaves the audience on a high note.

Exploring nightmares and traumatic childhood experiences adds drama to the performance, while more personal dreams help the audience to connect with the themes that New Public look to explore over the 60-minute performance.

This isn’t your typical theatrical performance, but if you have a background in theatre, then you will very much enjoy the fantasies that come alight during Lucid.
