       FIVER – Southwark Playhouse

 

 Fiver, a new musical by Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees, follows the story of a humble five pound note as it passes through the hands and pockets of people in London. Often unnoticed and obviously unaware, the fiver is present for significant moments in each person’s life – whether it be an appreciation of their skills as a street performer; the start or end of a relationship; or the simple realisation that they can afford a bed for the night. It runs 3-20 July

CAPTAIN CORELLI’S MANDOLIN – Harold Pinter Theatre

 

 It is an epic love story set on the Greek island of Cephalonia. It follows the lives of Dr Iannis, his beautiful, strong-willed daughter Pelagia and the Italian Captain Antonio Corelli, during the Italian and German occupation of the island in World War II. It runs 4 July – 31 August

 THE SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE AGED 13¾  – Ambassador Theatre

 

 Set in 1980s Leicester, this musical adaptation of the best-selling book is a timeless tale of teenage angst, family struggles and unrequited love, told through the eyes of tortured poet and misunderstood intellectual Adrian Mole. It runs until 12 October

 THE VIEW UPSTAIRS – Soho Theatre

 

 The musical stars Tyrone Huntley as Wes, a young fashion designer who buys an abandoned space, not realising this had been the UpStairs Lounge, a vibrant '70s gay bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans, which, in 1973, was burned down in an arson attack, killing 32 people. It runs from 18 July to 24 August

 JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT – London Palladium 

 

 This colourful musical tells the story of Joseph who is gifted with a multi-coloured coat as a mark of his father’s favour. Sheridan Smith makes her return to London's West End in this brand new summer production. She will be joined by Jason Donovan as the Pharaoh. The pair will be joined by Jac Yarrow playing the rainbow-clad Joseph.
