ON MONDAY LAST WEEK

Etcetera theatre

This play is about Kamara, a Nigerian immigrant who reaches after 6 years of separation her husband in Philadelphia. She finds a job as a baby sitter in an upper class family. Soon she realizes that America is nothing like Africa, with neurotic and competitive parents, gun fears , dissociated families and lonileness.

On Monday last week is a good small budget play that is well acted and executed. It touches topics like relationships, motherhood, family, immigration, belonging, alienation and resilience , but none of them are fully explored.
